Cortisone Injection

Cortisone Injections can be part of pain management for painful foot conditions. While not the first line of treatment, cortisone injections can provide relief to foot pain when more conservative options have failed or are otherwise not an option. A cortisone injection is used to decrease inflammation at the site of pain. It can be used to treat a neuroma or heel pain from plantar fasciitis. The cortisone acts directly at the site to reduce the body’s inflammatory response. Because local anesthetic is added to the injection, clients typically feel immediate relief. In many cases only 1 injection is needed in some cases a 2nd injection will be needed 1-2 months later.
